Dominica real estate: Land prices August 2011

Dominica has to be the cheapest country in the Caribbean (nobody retires to Haiti) for land per ft2. At the moment you can find land at .50c US per ft2 inland.

The best places to live and retire in Dominica are ... the Roseau Valley, Mero/Salisbury on the West coast and Savanne Paille in Northern Dominica (2 miles North of Portsmouth - West coast).

The Roseau Valley's wonders are obvious and with tourist investment heading that way it is great place to think of.

Mero has a lot of retaurants and beaches, plus a lot of returning Dominicans call this place their home. Land prices are high there (though not in a world context) at $3 US per ft2.

Savanne Paille's wonders are a lot less known. Many Dominicans want to live here and indeed it is a place to aspire to. The faculty of Ross Medical University ALL want to live here. It is safe and every corner has a great view. It still has old ladies on the street and car traffic is low. Some lots have the best views available in Dominica. Land prices here are rising with minimum $2 US to $5 maximum.

We will go into more detail as we post more here.
